I do not teach s2 Integrated Science in the 2011-12 school year. For your interest, here is a record of S2 homework set in this 2010-11 school year, with due dates. Test dates are also given. 'WS' refers to the 'World of Science' text books 2 and 3 that the students have purchased to accompany this year's course. Students may also sometimes need book 1 which they should have purchased last year. Students are encouraged to read the relevant sections of their text books in addition to completing the formal homeworks.

bulletStudents are reminded that answers should include reasoning and calculations as appropriate.
bulletDon't forget to include the units when giving the values of quantities.
bulletTables and graphs should be drawn with a pencil and ruler.
bulletAdvice for writing lab reports and drawing graphs is given HERE.
bulletIf you need graph paper for your report then you can print this graph paper which is in Word format.
bulletAlways bring your agenda to class and always write your homework assignment and test dates in your agenda.
bulletPoints will be deducted for homework that is submitted late except if this is due to a justified absence.

Beginning in September 2010, I am moving some of the homework questions onto a Moodle Virtual Learning Environment. This has many advantages including:

bulletless paper used
bulletcolour images possible
bulletsounds, animations and videos can be included
bulletstudents know their score the moment they submit their homework
bulletdetailed analysis of results is possible

See moodle.org/about/ for more information about Moodle. My Moodle website is at http://eeb3.moodlehub.com (do not include 'www' in the address). Students must login using the same username and password that they use to log on to the school network. Students do not need to answer all the questions in one session - they can continue with the quiz at a later time. Once all the questions have been answered and checked they can be submitted for marking - the student should then receive an instant grade. The student may only submit each online homework quiz ONCE (unless otherwise stated). Although the student should receive an overall grade instantly they will not able to know their score for individual answers or know the correct answers to each question until the deadline for submission is passed.
