The following Flash animations are the 'official samples' showing what can be created using 3D Flash Animator. This program can be downloaded free but the free version has the limitation that clicking on the exported Flash movie always opens the Insanetools website (www.insanetools.com). This means that interactive buttons in animations exported from the free version will not function. The animations below were created for using a registered (paid-for) version and therefore the buttons are functional. At least one computer at the CIV has the paid-for version installed and therefore it IS possible to export movies with working buttons, but only on that one machine. The first animation consists of five BUTTONS. Note that a button can have three different appearances according to whether the mouse pointer is away from the button (normal), over the button (mouse over) or whether the button has been 'clicked' (mouse down). In this animation, sounds have also been added for Mouse Enter and Mouse Down (but not for Mouse Up or Mouse Leave). Try clicking each sheep! Most movies include 'events' such as show, hide, morph or move, but this animation includes no events whatsoever - the change in appearance and playing of sounds are all handled by the buttons themselves.
The next animation demonstrates how buttons can trigger more complex sequences of events. In this case each button triggers a morph event, which is a change in the shape of the stick man.
The last animation is more complex, using a button to trigger a long sequence of events including the 'explode' event. Open up the samples in the samples menu of the 3D Flash Animation application to see exactly how these animations were made.
Although these animations run smoothly and look quite impressive, it is worth noting that the file sizes are quite small and therefore they are quick to load. The file sizes are 50KB, 12KB and 65KB respectively - the stick man file is particularly small since it contains no sounds. |
